➤ The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) has selected three winners of its 2016 National Excellence in Training Awards, which it will present at a reception Nov. 2 in Las Vegas in conjunction with the Automotive Aftermarket Parts Exposition (AAPEX).
➤ The council named the submission by business services provider KPA L.L.C. as the grand award winner with awards also going to the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) and NAPA Auto Parts.
➤ Lafayette, Colo.-based KPA is being honored for its “Advertising Best Practices” training program, a course designed to educate car dealership clients on the laws and regulations surrounding advertising, helping them to avoid a host of legal liabilities that can result from poor advertising practices.
➤ The NAFTC receives the award for its “Propane Autogas Vehicle Technician Training” training program. Developed in conjunction with the Propane Education Research Council, this program is designed to educate, train and prepare pre- and in-service automobile technicians about the approaching needs of safely maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and converting propane autogas vehicles.
➤ This is the fifth time that NAFTC has been recognized by the ATMC with a National Excellence in Training Award.
➤ A Genuine Parts Co. affiliate, NAPA Auto Parts is being recognized by the ATMC for the eighth time in recent history for the program “Employee Management Training.” This in-house training program focuses on the legal and ethical aspects of employee management, as well as strategies for improving manager-employee relations, employee performance and employee retention..
